Read Together
Luke 9:23 (ESV)
Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."
Talk About It
Jesus invites everyone to follow Him, but He tells us it isn’t always easy. Following Jesus means sometimes saying “no” to what we want and “yes” to what He wants. That could mean putting others first, being kind when it’s hard, or choosing God’s way instead of our own. Jesus gave up everything—even His life—so we could know God’s love. He asks us to follow Him by putting Him first every day, not just sometimes. Lent reminds us of what Jesus did for us and gives us a chance to choose Him again. When we deny ourselves and follow Jesus, He helps us be strong, loving, and faithful. Every day is a new chance to choose Jesus first!
For Parents to Explain
Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting us to follow You. Give us strength to put You first each day and to love others like You do.
